Happy Independence Day!

The 4th Annual AZ AA Women’s Conference is happening soon!  Next week at this time, we will be in the final preparation stages to meet in Tubac on Friday, July 12 for the opening meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Here are a few final reminders:

  • The deadline for receipt of banquet choices and payment is MONDAY, JULY 8, 2019.  At this time, we must place an order with the Resort, so no changes or additions can be made.
  • The Hospitality Room will offer coffee and tea and snacks such as pretzels, fruit, and sweet items.  Please be sure to have a supply of your favorite cold beverage – including water – with you for the weekend.  Also, if you can contribute any items, we are very appreciative. 
  • Menus for the Resort are posted, and we will also provide a Tubac Chamber of Commerce Visitors document which will list the restaurants in Tubac, about a ten-minute drive.
  • Women can register onsite for the full Conference ($50) or Saturday ($35) only onsite if they wish to do so.
  • The Program is posted along with this message.  As we know, changes may occur, so please be sure to check the printed Program you will receive with your bags at Registration.

Congratulations!

For winning the free weekend lodging in Tubac!  It was a random drawing of women registered before April 30, 2019.

The dinner menu for the Tubac Resort is now posted for your convenience.  The previous menus were correct for both breakfast and lunch (a two-page document).  Each room has a small fridge and microwave, so you can plan for your meals.

There is still room for Conference registrations, and we welcome one-day ($35) registrations and walk-ins. 

The Conference Program is almost done.  It will be posted no later than Monday, July 1 for all to see.  Thank you to all the women who have agreed to be part of the Program thus far.

Good Morning

We are at 23 days before the Conference and counting!  We look forward to seeing you in Tubac.

We know it will be hot, and we are planning special surprises for your comfort.  It is very likely that we will have the entire Resort to ourselves for the whole weekend, so please dress comfortably and keep in mind that some walking will be necessary to get from one session to the others. 

Under the “About the Venue” tab above, we have added “Resort Menus,” and the three menus from the Resort are posted for your convenience.  I have asked the Resort to provide breakfast and lunch specials for our group that will be easy to order and are priced lower than the average menu items.  No final details about that yet, but you can review these menus for currently available food choices.

The Hospitality Room Chair is collecting all types of donations for our enjoyment – beverages, snacks, and money to purchase coffee and other items.  If your group could pitch in, we would appreciate it.

The vendor spots are sold out.  We have 10 tables of various items that our women have made to offer at the Conference. 

Finally, one-day registrations at $35 for all-day Saturday are available.  If you would like to purchase one, please use the registration form and write “one-day” on it and pay only $35.  You are welcome to attend the banquet as well for the additional price.

Hello AZ Women –

The 4th Annual Arizona AA Women’s Conference planning is well underway.  We have almost 80 registrants thus far, and we are planning for 200. Branded items and printed materials will be available for the first 200 women who register for the Conference.   We look forward to seeing you there.

Conference dates are Friday, July 12 from 6:00 p.m. through noon, Sunday, July 14.  We will meet at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa, Tubac, AZ, located slightly south of Tucson.  The Resort is adjacent to the expressway, very easy to find.

Scholarships

We are offering a limited number of scholarships; the deadline for scholarship requests is June 30.  Scholarships are for registration fees only (not rooms or the banquet). Please email me if you are interested. 

Donations for scholarships can be made at the time you register for the Conference.  Thank you for any funding you can provide for women who would not be able to attend.

Hospitality Room

There will be a hospitality room open throughout much of the Conference as a place to socialize, perhaps hold an impromptu meeting, and grab a snack, cup of coffee, or another beverage. Please ask your Women’s meetings if they could support the Hospitality Room with a food, beverage, or money donation.  Thank you very much.  Hours that the Hospitality Room will be open will be provided in your program.

I will send periodic emails until the Conference begins, and if you do not wish to receive them, please let me know, and I will remove your name from the list.  Please share this information with other women who may wish to attend.  Thanks!

Vendor Opportunities

So many exciting additions to our upcoming Conference in Tubac this July.

I was fortunate to spend part of this past weekend there, and it is a lovely place, one that you will find a spiritually uplifting place in which to meet other women in recovery.  Almost half of the rooms are reserved, so please be sure to act quickly to reserve yours. 

The Conference committee invites all artists and craftswomen to consider selling their wares at the Conference this year.  We have ten tables available at $25 each for the duration of the Conference for your special, one-of-a-kind items.  The information and application form to submit your items is attached here, and we know you will find appreciative shoppers at the Conference.
