July Update

Hello –
The Arizona AA Women’s Conference is almost full! We have about 10 spots still
available, so please send the registration (see link above) if you wish to attend.
The deadline for registration is extended to August 6, 2021.
Please note that we are observing all the safety protocols established by the Casa; that
is, there will be seating arrangements that allow for social distancing. Other seating
arrangements are offered as well.
Please bring masks and hand sanitizer if you wish to use them. We will have a limited
supply available, but it is best to plan for your personal comfort and safety. Currently,
there are no mask requirements.

Thanks for the enthusiastic response to the 5th Annual AZ AA Women’s Conference.  Over 20 spots have been filled already, and we are excited to be able to meet in person again. For those who already sent in their registration forms, thank you, and we will process credit card payments shortly.  We will let you know when that happens and for those who wish to pay by check or by phone (credit card), there is an option for those types of payments.

We have updated the registration form with all the necessary details and alternate ways to process payment for the Conference.  It is available on the “registration” tab above.

Dates:            Friday, August 20, 2021 – 4:00 p.m. registration

Sunday, August 22, 2021 – 1:00 p.m. (after lunch)

Total Cost:    $220.00 single room

 $180.00 shared room

The total cost includes two nights lodging, 6 meals and Conference registration. We are not able to offer commuter or single day pricing. Donations to a scholarship fund are always welcome, and there will be a space for that, too.

All meals are included, Friday dinner – Sunday lunch.  Dietary restrictions and/or mobility issues are noted on the new registration form.

All protocols for safe meetings and necessary social distancing will be followed as designated by the Retreat Center.  More on that as we progress through the summer.

Thanks for your patience, and we hope to see you there.

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to announce that the 5th Annual (minus 2020) Arizona AA Women’s Conference will be held live and in-person from Friday, August 20 to Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Franciscan Renewal Center (CASA) in Scottsdale.  The maximum number of attendees must be capped at 67 women per the Center’s requirements, so please register quickly if you wish to attend.

The registration form is under the Registration tab, and credit card payments are preferred.  All is secure with the transaction.  Please be sure to carefully complete the form, scan it, and attach it to an email to sstringer444@yahoo.com.  We will send an acknowledgement for your payment and registration.

The weekend is priced at $85 per night for a single room and $65 for a double (shared) room.  All meals from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch are included in this price.  We will not have a banquet this year, and we will all eat together in a dining room.  No refrigerators or microwaves are in the sleeping rooms.

The theme of this year’s Conference is THE FIRST 164 PAGES.  Of course, this means the Big Book, and it is our intention to supply each of you with a “little” Big Book for your reference throughout the weekend.

More information will be available throughout the coming months, and we are so glad that we can finally meet in person again.  Please email Erica B. at eta516@yahoo.com to be added to the Conference Facebook page.  More information will be forthcoming within the next few weeks on this site.

If you have questions or would like to talk about the Conference, please email cvwomen@gmail.com or call me at 928-451-2827.

Hello and Happy 2021!

Thank you for your inquiries and patience as the Arizona AA Women’s Conference Planning Committee worked through the pandemic-related issues for the 5th Annual Conference that had been scheduled for August 2020.

We then moved to March 2021 dates, as we believed that would be an acceptable alternative time.  As health-related concerns have not abated, the Planning Committee has now determined that the safest course of action is to hold the Conference on a Zoom platform this year.

VIA ZOOM – The First 164 Pages – July 9 – 11, 2021

The 5th Annual Women’s Conference will be held July 9 – 11, 2021 via Zoom.   We are developing a registration site that will have a link for donations.  There will be no fee for the Conference, but you will need to register.  Promotional items are also under consideration.  Please check back on the website,  periodically for updates.

Speakers and session leaders will be needed for the Conference, so please think about topics related to the first 164 pages of the Big Book (Alcoholics Anonymous) and let me know if you wish to participate at that level.  We appreciate your input about the Conference.

Thank you for your patience as we have worked through the safest and most effective way to deliver the Conference this year.

Hello AZ Women

We hope that you are all healthy and staying as active as possible during this current health situation in Arizona.

We regret that we must re-schedule the 5th Annual Arizona AA Women’s Conference from August 14-16, 2020 to March 5 – 7, 2021.

The committee has determined that we will refund all registration and banquet money that has been submitted to date for the August 2020 dates. If you paid via credit card, we will refund via credit card, and if you sent a check, we will issue a check.

This should be accomplished by end of May. All room reservations at the Tubac Spa and Resort have been cancelled.

In the fall, we will begin our promotional effort again, and you will be able to register for the March 5-7, 2021 Conference. We hope you do so!  Also, new room reservations will be required.

Please check back here – www.azaawc.org – periodically for updates.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you in March 2021. Please feel free to contact us at cvwomen@gmail.com at any time.

Hello Arizona AA Women

It’s that time again!  The 5th Annual AZ AA Women’s Conference is ready to launch!  We will meet in Tubac in 202 days!

The theme for 2020 is “The First 164 Pages,” and we will focus on the Big Book’s message to us as we strive to (get and) remain sober and work the Steps.

You can already register by clicking here.

Venue Plan

We listened to the vast majority who voted to remain in Tubac.  The evaluation forms from 2019 overwhelmingly voted for Tubac, and we were able to LOWER the price of the rooms to $109 per night (plus resort fees and taxes).   We meet again at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa from August 14 – 16, 2020.

Current Planning

The Planning Committee – these hard-working women – Sharon S. from Tucson, Susan A. from Prescott, and Erica B. from Phoenix came to Camp Verde (my house) – last weekend to finalize the 2020 registration form.  It is available at the “Registration” tab above.  You may use your credit card to register on-line or send a check with a printed form.  The price for the entire weekend is $52.

Vendor Marketplace

Vendors are welcome.  We have expanded the available space for vendors this year because more space is available at the Resort.  Please use the form under the tab “Vendor Marketplace” to secure space at the Conference.

It is great to have volunteers to speak, serve as guides and greeters, and help in general.  You are valued helpers!  Please consider volunteering for a small part of the weekend.  There is a space on the registration form and in the on-line registration site to sign up. Thank you.

Hospitality Room

We will offer the hospitality room this year again.  It was the best ever!  If your women’s meeting would like to donate beverages or snacks, we would appreciate that.  If you would like to bring along goodies, that would be wonderful, too.  Thank you.

Shuttle Service

This year, we will offer shuttle service between the various meeting places for those who may have difficulty getting around.

These are the main highlights for now.  More emails to follow as we approach the Conference.  Questions?  Please email me at cvwomen@gmail.com.

Have a healthy and blessed 2020!

Happy Independence Day!

The 4th Annual AZ AA Women’s Conference is happening soon!  Next week at this time, we will be in the final preparation stages to meet in Tubac on Friday, July 12 for the opening meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Here are a few final reminders:

  • The deadline for receipt of banquet choices and payment is MONDAY, JULY 8, 2019.  At this time, we must place an order with the Resort, so no changes or additions can be made.
  • The Hospitality Room will offer coffee and tea and snacks such as pretzels, fruit, and sweet items.  Please be sure to have a supply of your favorite cold beverage – including water – with you for the weekend.  Also, if you can contribute any items, we are very appreciative.
  • Menus for the Resort are posted, and we will also provide a Tubac Chamber of Commerce Visitors document which will list the restaurants in Tubac, about a ten-minute drive.
  • Women can register onsite for the full Conference ($50) or Saturday ($35) only onsite if they wish to do so.
  • The Program is posted along with this message.  As we know, changes may occur, so please be sure to check the printed Program you will receive with your bags at Registration.

Travel safely!  Enjoy your holiday!  We can’t wait to see you next week.

Please join the Planning Committee (Susan A. from Prescott, Sue D. from Tucson, Sharon S. from Tucson, Erica B. from Mesa, Laura S. from Tucson, and I am Charlotte C. from Camp Verde) in congratulating

Caroyl J. from Black Canyon City

For winning the free weekend lodging in Tubac!  It was a random drawing of women registered before April 30, 2019.

The dinner menu for the Tubac Resort is now posted for your convenience.  The previous menus were correct for both breakfast and lunch (a two-page document).  Each room has a small fridge and microwave, so you can plan for your meals.

There is still room for Conference registrations, and we welcome one-day ($35) registrations and walk-ins.

The Conference Program is almost done.  It will be posted no later than Monday, July 1 for all to see.  Thank you to all the women who have agreed to be part of the Program thus far.

Good Morning

We are at 23 days before the Conference and counting!  We look forward to seeing you in Tubac.

We know it will be hot, and we are planning special surprises for your comfort.  It is very likely that we will have the entire Resort to ourselves for the whole weekend, so please dress comfortably and keep in mind that some walking will be necessary to get from one session to the others.

Under the “About the Venue” tab above, we have added “Resort Menus,” and the three menus from the Resort are posted for your convenience.  I have asked the Resort to provide breakfast and lunch specials for our group that will be easy to order and are priced lower than the average menu items.  No final details about that yet, but you can review these menus for currently available food choices.

The Hospitality Room Chair is collecting all types of donations for our enjoyment – beverages, snacks, and money to purchase coffee and other items.  If your group could pitch in, we would appreciate it.

The vendor spots are sold out.  We have 10 tables of various items that our women have made to offer at the Conference.

Finally, one-day registrations at $35 for all-day Saturday are available.  If you would like to purchase one, please use the registration form and write “one-day” on it and pay only $35.  You are welcome to attend the banquet as well for the additional price.

Please contact me if you would like to be of service and/or if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Hello AZ Women –

The 4th Annual Arizona AA Women’s Conference planning is well underway.  We have almost 80 registrants thus far, and we are planning for 200. Branded items and printed materials will be available for the first 200 women who register for the Conference.   We look forward to seeing you there.

Conference dates are Friday, July 12 from 6:00 p.m. through noon, Sunday, July 14.  We will meet at the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa, Tubac, AZ, located slightly south of Tucson.  The Resort is adjacent to the expressway, very easy to find.

We are offering a limited number of scholarships; the deadline for scholarship requests is June 30.  Scholarships are for registration fees only (not rooms or the banquet). Please email me if you are interested.

Donations for scholarships can be made at the time you register for the Conference.  Thank you for any funding you can provide for women who would not be able to attend.

Hospitality Room

There will be a hospitality room open throughout much of the Conference as a place to socialize, perhaps hold an impromptu meeting, and grab a snack, cup of coffee, or another beverage. Please ask your Women’s meetings if they could support the Hospitality Room with a food, beverage, or money donation.  Thank you very much.  Hours that the Hospitality Room will be open will be provided in your program.

I will send periodic emails until the Conference begins, and if you do not wish to receive them, please let me know, and I will remove your name from the list.  Please share this information with other women who may wish to attend.  Thanks!
